Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 20, 2026 • Strict Zero-Knowledge Architecture

📌 Summary: What You Need to Know

At cryptogramsolve.com, we believe word puzzle solving should be stimulating, fast, and completely confidential. We do not sell user data, track your browsing behavior across the web, or store your cipher solutions.

✓100% In-Browser Cryptanalysis
✓Zero User Accounts or Logins
✓Zero Server Storage of Plaintext
✓Zero Third-Party Ad Trackers

1.Client-Side Cryptographic Execution

Our core solver engines, constraint satisfaction backtracking algorithms, quadgram n-gram fitness models, and letter frequency distribution charts run 100% in your local web browser via client-side JavaScript and isolated Web Workers.

When you paste an encrypted newspaper cryptogram or solve a daily quote puzzle, neither the ciphertext nor your decrypted plaintext is transmitted to our servers or stored in any database. The mathematical substitutions remain strictly in your device's volatile memory.

2.Data We Do NOT Collect

We practice rigorous data minimization. We do not require or collect:

  • Personal Identifiers: No user registration, passwords, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
  • Cipher Inputs & Solutions: No quotes, custom ciphers, or plaintext solutions are uploaded or recorded.
  • Financial Information: All solvers, tools, and daily puzzles are 100% free; we never request credit cards or payment credentials.
  • Cross-Site Behavioral Profiles: We do not track what other sites you visit before or after solving cryptograms.

3.Browser Local Storage (localStorage)

To provide a seamless user experience, we store a minimal set of user preferences exclusively inside your browser's localStorage:

Storage KeyPurposePersistence
themeStores your Dark Mode or Light Mode preference to eliminate screen flicker.Until cleared by user
cryptogram_daily_streakTracks your daily puzzle consecutive solve streak locally on your device.Until cleared by user
cryptogram_sound_mutedRemembers whether audio completion chimes are enabled or muted.Until cleared by user

You can erase this information at any time by clearing your browser cache and local storage in your browser settings.

4.Cookies & Analytics

cryptogramsolve.com does not deploy third-party advertising cookies, data broker beacons, or invasive tracking scripts.

Any technical cookies used are strictly session-based and necessary for core web infrastructure (such as edge load balancing and DDoS protection). We do not correlate your puzzle-solving activity with real-world identities.

5.Technical Server Logs & Infrastructure

Like virtually all web services, our hosting edge servers receive standard HTTP request headers transmitted by your web browser (including your IP address, browser user agent, referring URL, and request timestamp).

These logs are processed strictly for operational health, automated rate limiting to prevent denial-of-service (DDoS) abuse, and server error diagnostics. These logs are purged automatically on a rolling schedule and are never used to profile individual solvers.

6.Third-Party CDNs & Web Fonts

To ensure optimal rendering, high-legibility dual-line letter cells, and fast font loading across all global devices, we use Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com & fonts.gstatic.com) to deliver the Geist and Geist Mono font families.

These requests are strictly for static typography stylesheet assets and do not involve cookies or personal data sharing.

7.Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

Cryptograms, word ciphers, and frequency puzzles are popular educational activities used in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms to develop pattern recognition and vocabulary.

Because cryptogramsolve.com does not collect personal identifiers, our platform is fully safe for students and complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child privacy regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).

8.Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Depending on your location, you have rights under privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). Because we do not retain user accounts, identities, or puzzle logs on our servers, we have no personal data to sell, disclose, or delete.

Any client-side preferences (such as your daily streak or theme choice) can be completely removed directly on your device by clearing your browser's local storage.
