How to Solve Cryptograms

Enter any encrypted cipher puzzle to reveal frequencies, discover matching word patterns, or let our constraint solver decode quotes instantly.

1. Spot Single-Letter Words
In English, single-letter words are almost exclusively "A" or "I". Test both to see which forms valid digraphs.
2. Analyze Contractions
Apostrophes reveal common suffixes like 'T, 'S, 'D, 'LL, 'RE, or 'VE. If a word ends with 'T, the preceding letter is likely N (DON'T, CAN'T).
3. Follow High-Frequency Letters
E, T, A, O, I, N are the most common letters. Common three-letter words are often "THE" or "AND".
